The new Porsche Cayman GT4 is almost ready and is announced to generate more than 400 HP
The new Porsche Cayman GT4 prototype has been caught during a test drive, and in order to satisfy the enthusiasts, it had no camouflage. Best news is that under the bonnet, this car is going to be fitted with an aspirated engine, capable of generating more than 400 horsepower.
The new Porsche Cayman GT4 prototype marched in all its splendor in front of the cameras, without any camouflage to hide its latest significant changes.
At first, we notice on the front its redesigned air vents and that the sides bear a resemblance to the GTS version. On the back, the car comes with a brand new spoiler, a different form for the air vent and the two outlets for the exhaust system which have been moved towards the exterior of the bumper.
Through the back window, it’s easy to see the roll-cage inside the car, which will improve the stiffness of the chassis and providing additional protection to the passengers. Unfortunately, from these spy-images it’s difficult to get a good look at the passenger compartment of the new Cayman GT4, so enthusiasts have to be patient.
The powertrain is still unknown, but rumors talk about a naturally aspirated Boxer unit, capable of generating more than 400 horsepower. Is this value justified, considering that the GTS version features 365 horsepower and that this GT4 version transmits to its rear axle 385 horsepower.
Since this is a car for the purists, the transmission is going to be manual as usual, but optionally you may have a dual-clutch, PDK automatic gearbox.
As for its official debut, we can only say that the prototype is more than 80% ready. Taking this into account, it will take a couple of months to make the presentation of the production version possible.
