TOKYO, Sept. 8, 2008 -- Nissan has launched a revised version of the popular Otti minicar, which goes on sale today at Nissan dealers in Japan. The Nissan Otti, which debuted in October 2006, is known for its simple, boxy styling and roomy, high utility interior. Marketed under the slogan “SHIFT_365 days: Minicars for daily living,” the Otti fits easily into the typical multi-story garage. Key refinements to the new model include redesigned exterior and interior treatments, improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, a reorganized grade selection and new exterior colors.

Chennai, India, September 8, 2008 -- The Ashok Leyland – Nissan LCV project crossed a significant milestone today with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Tamil Nadu for acquiring 380 acres to locate the facilities of the joint venture companies at Pillaipakkam, 40 kms off Chennai. The integrated plant will be utilized to set up the vehicle and powertrain manufacturing facilities and a technology development unit for the three companies of the joint venture that was formed in May 2008.

The working of these companies has already been initiated and the joint venture is on course to roll out the first vehicle by 2010-2011. Exports are expected to account for 20% of the first phase capacity of 100,000 LCVs.

The Rogue, as well as nine other small SUVs, was evaluated for front, side and rear crash protection. SMYRNA, Tenn., Aug. 18, 2008 – Nissan’s hydrogen-fuel-cell research vehicle, along with several fuel-cell vehicles from other manufacturers, made a stop today at Nissan’s Smyrna Test Track as part of an historic two-week cross-country trip. The 13-day, 31-city Hydrogen Tour is traveling from Portland, Maine, to Los Angeles and is designed to showcase the commercial viability of environmentally friendly fuel-cell vehicles (FCVs).

All-electric and original hybrid electric prototypes unveiled

TOKYO, August 6, 2008 -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today unveiled all-electric and original hybrid electric prototype vehicles, both powered by advanced lithium-ion batteries. Under the NISSAN GT 2012 business plan, the company has committed to zero-emission vehicle leadership, and has announced plans to introduce an all-electric vehicle in 2010 and mass market globally in 2012.
