This is the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600

At around $200,000, it will be the most expensive passenger vehicle produced in the United States

The new and ultra expensive new version of the GLS is manufactured at the Alabama plant. It is Mercedes’ first mass-produced Maybach-branded SUV. It transforms the luxurious family SUV into an ultra-luxurious family SUV and supplements its Mercedes badges with Maybach ones.

The first customer deliveries are expected in late 2020 or early 2021.

The Maybach GLS has technically been in production since September but experienced some delays as the plant shut down entirely against the background of COVID-19.

Buyers can order the third row of seats removed, and have the space instead function as a partition between the second-row captain’s chairs and a reduced cargo area. A 4.0-liter biturbo engine is standard, which makes 550 horsepower and rockets the GLS to 60 in 4.8 seconds.

The standard grille has been dumped and instead we have a huge chrome grille with vertical slats.

The rear seats are finished in quilted Nappa leather and sit 120 millimeters further back than in the Mercedes-Benz GLS to give more legroom. Besides, there are calf supports and an exceptionally wide backrest that can be reclined up to 43.5°.

According to Forbes experts, the new GLS 600 4MATIC includes several exclusive features like its standing Mercedes 3-star hood ornament (the first for an MB SUV), 22″ light-alloy wheels, a stunning grille patterned with vertical chrome louvers, and of course the all-important Maybach lettering and chrome detailing where it counts.
