Be ready for Jeep’s new luxury SUVs
Jeep added two new models to the top of its lineup: the Wagoneer and the more opulent Grand Wagoneer
They were revealed during a virtual presentation. Both of them share the same overall dimensions and basic body structure. The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer arrives at dealerships in US in the second half of this year
The Wagoneer base price is $57,995 but according to experts, this three-row SUV is worth every cent of it. One of the most striking decision of the car maker has been to dump the baroque wood paneling on the doors. Thus, the car has a much modern look.
The base engine of the Wagoneer is a 5.7-liter V-8 kicking out 392 hp and 404 lb-ft of torque, assisted by a 48-volt eTorque mild-hybrid system for stop-start and up to 130 lb-ft of additional torque at low rpm. The standard model comes with coilover suspension at all four corners. There is an optional Quadra-Lift air suspension that offers height-adjustability and up to 10 inches of ground clearance in its highest setting. Inside, it offers three-row seating for seven or eight, plus a wide range of screens, including an all-digital instrument panel for the driver and optional second-row entertainment screens.
The Grand Wagoneer
The Grand Wagoneer takes things to a whole new level, including the price: it starts at $86,995. This model is a body-on-frame SUV with four-wheel independent suspension and three rows of seating.
The standard Grand Wagoneer has a 6.4-liter V-8 making 471 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque, connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. As regard the chassis, it comes with Quadra-Lift suspension, with air springs at all four corners that can lower the vehicle 0.6 inches from normal for high-speed aerodynamic efficiency or raise it up to 2.0 inches above normal for off-roading. Interior luxury is at its best: satin-finish American walnut wood, the dashboard finished in piano black, walnut, and formed aluminum.
