Audi S6 will introduce the next generation in 2018
The next-generation Audi S6 is to be launched in 2018 and will be powered by a 2.9 litre V6 biturbo engine with 450 horsepower currently available on RS4 and RS5 models.
The Audi S6 sport model is also eagerly awaited this year.
It has already been captured during drive tests at the Nurburgring race track, even though its powerful camouflage prevents us from fully appreciate the main differences in the design features.
Instead, the French Magazine L’Automobile Magazine claims that is in possession of information about the propulsion system of the next generation Audi. Thus, Audi S6 might use the 2.9 litre V6 biturbo engine also available on Audi RS4 and RS5.
For both models, the propulsion unit is capable of generating 450HP and 600 Nm of torque between 1.900 and 5.000 rpm, which allows this car to reach 100 km in just 4.1 seconds. It is expected however that Audi S6 will have less weight, which translates in slightly higher performances.
Currently, Audi S6 is only available with a 4.0 liter TFSI engine generating 450 HP as well, but previous information is indicating that the next gen could use including a biturbo 3.0 liters TDI diesel engine, which is already installed on Audi S6, in which case it generates 326 HP.
Subsequently, most probably in 2019, the Ingolstadt manufacturer will launch also the Audi RS6, which promises better performances.
