First glimpse of the new Dacia Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Logan
Renault aims to freshen up Dacia’s image with model upgrades; today we have seen only photos, the official presentation takes place on September 29.
The new generations of Dacia Sandero, Stepway and Logan have been officially unveiled. A renewed and modernized third generation, completely revisited with a new design, is about to consolidate Dacia’s position as a best-seller in the global market.
For now, Dacia has revealed the styling only. More details will be released on 29 September, with prices and specifications, details of the engine range and a release date to be made public, several months before the car reaches dealerships.
In an interview with French magazine Le Point published last week, new chief executive of Renault, Luca de Meo, said Dacia should not depart from its low-cost setting but added the brand should have a “cooler” image.
These three Dacia models are prized worldwide thanks to an unbeatable price and reduced exterior dimensions, offering modernity, equipment and versatility yet providing simplicity and reliability.
The company says the new Sandero’s overall design is more streamlined than that of its predecessor thanks to a sloping windshield and lower roofline. Ground clearance is unchanged but wider tracks and flush-mounted wheels have been adopted.
Dacia Sandero features Y-shaped LED daytime running lights with a chrome bar that appears to connect them. The bonnet gets a reworking, with new raised elements that look like stripes. It looks like the back of the car features LED elements too, while the rear lights have changed shape, as has the roofline.
With its increased ground clearance, Sandero Stepway is the versatile backpacker of the Dacia range. On the outside, its assertive design evokes escape, adventure.
