EV Dacia Spring and Renault Mégane, two of the most awaited cars of 2021
The new Dacia Spring and Renault Megane Electric are high on the list of potential buyers
Both cars are electric, but one with an urban body and a cheap price in Europe, and the other having a more original design and more compact dimensions.
Orders open in spring 2021, and Dacia Spring is set to become the cheapest new electric car available to buy in Europe.
The city car shape is bulked up with some SUV styling cues like chunky wheel arch cladding, roof rails and an above-average ground clearance, namely 150 mm.
The charge port is located behind a panel in a flush front grille, which is flanked by twin headlamp units with a slim Y-shaped LED lighting signature.
It develops 44 HP and 125 Nm of instantaneous torque; its maximum speed is 125 km / h. Thanks to its battery with a capacity of 26.8 kWh, it announces a range of 225 kilometers in the WLTP cycle (295 km in the urban cycle). But Dacia promises 10% more autonomy by pressing the ECO button on the instrument panel: this mode limits power to 23 kW and top speed to 100 km / h.
To charge the batteries, a 2.3 kW household outlet can be used with the 220V cable as standard, which means less than 14 hours for a full charge. Charging can be controlled, activated and stopped by means of a free application called “MY Dacia”, which allows you to know the battery level, the remaining range and to locate the vehicle in real time.
