Sales of imported vehicles grow in China
Sales of imported cars are surging in China as consumption capacity in the auto market has been improving
According to a report released by Sinomach Automobile, a Chinese company that operates car wholesales business, the year-on-year growth rate of the imported automobile market moved out of a negative territory to become positive in the fourth quarter of 2020, in spite of the global gloomy situation around the world. Experts are optimistic; it is estimated that the annual growth rate of 2020 will decline by about 12 percent, but the market scale of imported automobile is expected to bounce back in 2021.
“Major automobile enterprises around the world are eying the Chinese market. Some of the manufacturers that used to make super luxury cars are now constantly developing products that are suitable for Chinese consumers. So in general, we predict that there will be a growth of three to five percent,”– according to Chen Youquan, chairman of Sinomach Automobile.
In recent years, with the growth of people’s income, the auto sales in China are also increasing. Since the beginning of 2020, sales of imported vehicles have seen an unprecedented growth.
Salespeople are exploring different ways of promotion, for example, making short videos, to attract customers and boost sales. “In this way, we can make it easier for clients to remember the characteristics of these cars,” said Wang Yading, sales director.
