Bugatti’s new Tourbillon masterpiece, the ultimate hypercar!
Bugatti has just unveiled a piece of jewelry endowed power, refinement and precision called “Tourbillon”. The 1,800-horsepower hybrid sports a mechanical dashboard created by Swiss watchmakers.
This is the hypercar of superlatives. The Bugatti Tourbillon is indeed a head-turner, with a price tag of $4 million and a top speed of 446 km/h powered by an 1,800 hp hybrid engine. The whole thing is embellished with masterpiece-like lines, mechanical engineering and the refinement of genuine Swiss luxury watchmaking inside. The name alone, Tourbillon, is actually taken from the world of prestige chronographs. The “tourbillon” is one of the most prestigious pieces of precision watchmaking. Produced by very few craftsmen, it is a device that reduces the effect of gravity to improve the precision of a mechanical watch. And it’s this precision mechanism, which is designed for the present, the future and even eternity, that has inspired the bolide. In fact, analog instruments made up of 600 mechanical parts in titanium, aluminum, crystal, ruby and sapphire are located in the center of the steering wheel as a fixed dashboard. This truly original work of art was designed by Swiss watchmakers.
A Bugatti Tourbillon on the wrist
In keeping with the world of Swiss precision chronographs, Bugatti has decided to go one step further and offer a genuine watch that also bears the Tourbillon name. Designed in partnership with Jacob&Co, it incorporates a V16 representation of the racing car, as well as the car’s three counters. Once again, there are some 560 elements in a titanium case. Its price is in line with that of the car, as the watch costs $340,000!
