Jeep unveiled the first images of Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid
However, it’s only pictures, nothing else has been revealed during Stellantis EV Day 2021
More details about the two row Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid will be available at the 2021 New York International Auto Show, next month, and will include the full range of the Grand Cherokee lineup. It is the fifth generation of the Grand Cherokee. Over the past three decades Grand Cherokee has become the most awarded SUV in history.
There is no further details regarding the car itself or its on-sale date. Besides, it’s unclear which drivetrain will be utilized. The first glimpses during the online presentation suggest it is a midsize SUV, but won’t be a full battery-electric vehicle, but a plug-in. Experts say it has a shorter body and a sleeker design. Bumpers and lights seem to be slightly differentas compared with the three-row L. It will be capable of driving short distances on electric power alone.
The exterior design is a classical Jeep, with the seven-slot grille and beefy squared-off fender arches. However it’s inside where the biggest changes are to be found. But we have to wait for August, when it will be presented in New York.
With the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe the car maker makes another step toward expanding electrification. As we know, the motto is “Zero Emission, 100% Freedom”. Besides, Jeep confirmed it will build all-electric versions of its forthcoming Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer full-size luxury SUVs. Jeep claims that 70 percent of its sales will be electrified by 2025.
