The convertible version makes debut. How the new Corvette ZR1 with the retractable fabric roof looks?
A driver caught on camera while on a highway in the United States a convoy of three Corvette ZR1 supercars, among which one is the future convertible version. Front and rear were camouflaged, but one can still see the retractable fabric roof.
- The new Corvette ZR1 will have a convertible version
- The prototype has been caught on camera during drive tests on a highway in Florida
- Left wing is more discreet than in the Coupe version
The American car manufacturer launched the most powerful Corvette ever built, the new ZR1, few days ago in Dubai. This muscle car immediately made an impression among the enthusiasts with its extremely aggressive appearance, and unprecedented levels of aerodynamic downforce of 430 kilograms, and impressive technical datasheet.
According to which, this supercar hides under its hood a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine, capable of generating 755 horsepower and 969 Nm of torque, and also a top speed of 337 km/h. The most intriguing part is that all this power is transmitted exclusively to the rear axle, either through its 7-speed manual gearbox or the 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Now, the internet was taken off by three photos made by an American while driving on a highway in Florida, in which three ZR1 supercars were spotted during tests, of which one had a retractable fabric roof. In other words, the future Corvette ZR1 Convertible.
Even though the front and rear side were camouflaged, it was still possible to see that its design remained almost the same, but the rear wing appeared to be softer than on the Coupe version.
The lucky photographer claimed that test pilots played a bit with acceleration when passing him by and that the cars sounded amazing. This could only mean that the new version will receive the same drive unit, used on the non removable roof version premiered in Dubai.
