Chevrolet has released its new Corvette ZR1 during the Dubai Motor Show. The American automaker says it is the strongest and the fastest production Corvettes ever made, and it will go on sale next spring.
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 LT5 engine. The unit offers 755 horsepower and a torque of 969 Nm. Its power is routed through the 7-speed manual transmission or, for the first time on Corvette ZR1, through an 8-speed automatic transmission. However, the American carmaker provides no information on the acceleration time for 0-100 km/h, but says its top speed resides somewhere above 338 km/h.
The new Corvette ZR1 delivers 70% more downforce compared to Corvette Z06, and the Americans also offer the optional ZTK Performance package. The latter provides a more generous aileron, modified front aerodynamic components and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Also, the package includes special setups for electronically controlled air suspensions.
Additionally, Chevrolet offers for the new Corvette ZR1 the Sebring Orange Design package. As you probably hinted at this, we have here a kit offering a Sebring Orange exterior paint combined with a series of interior elements painted in orange.
