Hennessey Camaro ZL1 with 1000 horsepower promises to exorcise any Demon on the streets
The unprecedented campaign to prepare for the launch of the new Dodge Challenger SRT Demon gave Hennessey time to produce a powerful counter offer: The Exorcist, a 1000 horsepower version of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. As the producer says, “the newest Hennessey creation is meant to exorcise any auto demon in the market.”
The new Exorcist brags, especially when it comes to speed and power: it is equipped with a 6.2-liter turbocharged V8 engine, quite altered from the standard version.
The propulsion system produces no less than 1,310 Newton meters in terms of power. It is the buyer who decides whether this “holy” power will be transmitted to the wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox or a ten-speed automatic gearbox.
Hennessey estimates that The Exorcist can reach 100 km / h in less than three seconds and can reach 400 meters in under 10 seconds, even if the car is fitted with a set of impressive rims on the rear axle.
At this point, it’s quite difficult to tell how The Exorcist will fight with the new Challenger SRT Demon, because Dodge continues to release new details of their new super car.
The new Challenger is packed with state-of-the-art technology, designed to increase its speed. The most used components will be those responsible for acceleration, and the air conditioning of the engine, even though it passes through the compressor, can easily cool the interior of the cabin.
Dodge will officially launch the new Challenger SRT Demon just before the New York Auto Show.
