Mazda brings two concept models to the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show
Mazda will exhibit at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show two concept models: one that announces the next-generation products and another that embodies the direction of the design of next-generation models. Mazda will also present the SKYACTIV-X gasoline engine.
The concept of the product, a compact hatchback that combines last generation technology and design will make its world debut in Tokyo. It features SKYACTIV architecture, future-generation technologies based on Mazda design philosophy centered on human being that offers optimal functionality and is powered by SKYACTIV-X, the world’s first gasoline compressor that uses compression ignition. The result is a significantly improved dynamic performance, combined with an eye-catching exterior.
The design vision also defines Mazda’s next-generation design concept – a deeper expression of the world-famous KODO design language that debuted on the Mazda CX-5 in 2012.
Mazda CX-8, the new three-row crossover SUV with a major upgrading to the SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel engine as well as a special Mazda MX-5 Red Top have been exhibited at the show. The Mazda CX-8 is on sale in Japan was started in December 2017. The Mazda MX-5 will feature a cherry red ceiling and Nappa leather upholstery.
