Citroen presents the new C3 R5: a racing car making its public debut in late November
Citroen unveiled the first image of the next C3 R5, a rally car. This car made its premiere in late November, and it will go on sales in the first half of next year.
In the last days, Volkswagen published the first official draft of its future Polo GTI R5, a rally car which will be available from the second half of next year. Recently, Citroen, the automaker which did not so good at the World Rally Championship this year, has released the first official image of its future C3 R5.
The development of this new model is coming to an end, and so far, top pilots like Stephane Lefebvre and Craig Breen have racked up more than 4.000 kilometers at the wheel of the C3 R5. According to Citroen officials, the new product will be available on the market in the first half of next year.
Nevertheless, fans of the French automaker will be able to view the new Citroen C3 R5 at the Rallye du Var (23 – 26 November), the final round of the French Rally Championship. A Citroen C3 R5 will be running as a road-opening zero car. The French car will be driven by Yoann Bonato, a pilot who already celebrated champion during the Hexagon Championship.
The new Citroen C3 R5 is equipped with a 1.6-litre turbo engine, featuring a four-wheel drive transmission and a 5-speed sequential transmission.
