A1GP Car Covers Half a Season's Distance in Testing
London, Great Britain, 07 July 2008 -- A total of 3,500 kilometres, the equivalent of over half a season's mileage, is the distance covered to date by the new A1GP World Cup of Motorsport Powered by Ferrari car. The latest series of tests for the car were in Spain with five days at the Guadix Circuit near Granada followed by three days at Jerez.
García Sanz Voted New President of Spanish Automakers Association
20 June 2008 -- The General Assembly of ANFAC, the Spanish automakers association, appointed Francisco J. García Sanz, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft with responsibility for Procurement, as its President when it met yesterday in Madrid.
The term of office is two years. García Sanz is the first representative of the Volkswagen Group to hold the most senior office of the association representing the Spanish automotive industry. He takes over from Juan Antonio Fernandez Sevilla, who had been President since 2004.

World Champion Andy Priaulx Scores Podium Finish for BMW in Valencia
Valencia, 18th May 2008 -- Andy Priaulx (GB) of BMW Team UK claimed his second podium result in this year’s FIA World Touring Car Championship. At Valencia’s “Circuit de la Comunitat” he finished third in the sixth round of the season. In the first race of the day the reigning World Champion finished seventh.
BMW Team Germany driver Jörg Müller (DE) also collected points at what was the series’ maiden event on European soil in 2008. His team-mate Augusto Farfus (BR) and BMW Team Italy-Spain’s Alessandro Zanardi (IT) and Félix Porteiro (ES), however, failed to make it into the top-eight in either race. Ralf Brandstätter Appointed Executive Vice-President for Purchases at SEAT
Martorell, 24-04-2008 -- Born in Braunschweig, Germany, 39-year-old Ralf Brandstätter has been appointed Vice-President for Purchases at SEAT, with effect from July 1st. To date Mr. Brandstätter has held the post of Director of Purchases for the Spanish car manufacturer.
His appointment came on the back of a Volkswagen Group decision to create a new Vice-Presidency on SEAT’s Executive Committee, which currently represents the five areas of Research and Development, Sales and Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Production.

Appeal lodged by the Automobile Club d’Italia/Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana (ACI/CSAI) on behalf of its licence-holder GPC Sport against a decision of the Spanish National Court of Appeal dated 28 November 2007 relating to the event run at Jerez (Spain) on 27-28 October 2007 and counting towards the 2007 Spanish GT Championship.
On 28 October 2007, the Stewards of the Meeting decided to impose a 25-second penalty on car N°5, competitor RSV Motorsport (drivers Peter Sundberg and Domingo Romero) for having overtaken another competitor while a yellow flag restriction was in place.
