Porsche Wins Its Fight to Prevent Increase in London Congestion Charge
Six-figure donation to youth charity after court victory
Stuttgart/London, 7/7/2008 -- Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, and its sales subsidiary Porsche Cars Great Britain, won their fight against the increase in the London congestion charge. The signature of a consent order by an administrative court in London has finally swept the plans of the former Mayor, Ken Livingstone, to introduce an unfair and disproportionate daily charge of £25 per driver in central London off the table. The agreement also included the award of legal costs. Porsche will donate these costs, expected to be a six-figure sum, to the British youth charity Skidz.

Just a few weeks after the new Porsche 911s with classic rear-wheel drive, the all-wheel-drive versions Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S are now entering the market in both Coupé and Cabriolet guise.
7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission by Porsche, ZF Enters Volume Production
June 2008 -- The new dual clutch transmission is presented for the first time to approximately 900 engineers and press representatives at the VDI 'Transmissions in Vehicles' Event in Friedrichshafen. The 7DT sports transmission is particularly suited for applications with high engine speed requirements. Gear changes without traction interruption allow for very good acceleration and vehicle handling with low fuel consumption. The transmission was developed in Kressbronn, Brandenburg, and Schweinfurt; it is produced at the Brandenburg site of ZF's Car Driveline Technology division.

Porsche AG, Stuttgart, and his daughter Stephanie ‘christened’ two imperial eagle chicks in Stuttgart, naming them Asta and Artus. The two young birds of the species aquila heliaca, which is threatened worldwide with extinction, hatched six weeks ago in Greifvogelpark Hellenthal, falconer Horst Niesters’ sanctuary park for birds of prey in the Eifel region. This successful hatching is regarded as a sensation in expert circles.

Porsche AG, has been presented with the Staufer Gold Medal by the Minister of the Interior of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg, Heribert Rech. The presentation of this medal, which is the highest honor Baden-Württemberg can confer, took place yesterday evening at a reception held by the Porsche Board in the factory Casino at the car manufacturer’s main works in Zuffenhausen, to mark Wolfgang Porsche’s sixty-fifth birthday.
