The V-6-equipped Pontiac G8 performance sedan has a starting MSRP of $31,995 and the V-8-powered Pontiac G8 GT model starts at $36,995.

2008-03-14 -- General Motors announced today that GM Holden will export two new vehicles to North America, to join the already successful Pontiac G8 performance sedan.

The Pontiac G8 sport truck - based on Australia’s iconic Holden ute - and Pontiac’s new flagship, the G8 GXP high performance sedan, will both officially be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday 19 March 2008.

The export programs were confirmed today by GM Holden’s new Chairman and Managing Director, Mark Reuss, who described them as great additions to Pontiac’s portfolio, a brand renowned for driving excitement.

2007-12-18 -- GM Holden added another vehicle to its growing export program today with the announcement that full production of the Pontiac G8 for the US market was now underway.

The introduction of the Pontiac G8 represents a significant milestone for GM Holden as it brings the mix of vehicles produced at the Elizabeth manufacturing plant in Adelaide to a 50-50 split of export and domestic production.

It also ensures the Elizabeth production line will now be running at its full production capacity of 620 cars a day, which equates to one car off the line every 76 seconds.

GM Holden marked the start of the Pontiac G8 export program today with a VIP event at Holden Vehicle Operations in Adelaide.
