Tokyo, June 27, 2008 -- Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the maker of Subaru automobiles, today announced the successful development of its Subaru Plug-in STELLA Concept model, a prototype electric vehicle (EV). FHI will provide five units of the Plug-in STELLA Concept for use at the Hokkaido Toyako Summit to be held July 7 through 9, 2008. Four of the five will be used to transport government officials and other participants at the summit, while one vehicle will be displayed at the Environmental Showcase, an exhibition and demonstration area in the International Media Center, and it will also be available for a test drive.

Tests Show up to 120 Miles per Gallon

SANTA ROSA, CA, Mar 10, 2008 -- Electric car pioneer ZAP (OTC BB:ZAAP.OB) is now offering plug-in hybrid conversion systems for the Toyota Prius and Ford Escape Hybrid through a collaboration agreement with Hybrids Plus.

Hybrid vehicles retrofitted with systems from Hybrids Plus of Boulder, Colorado can achieve a significantly greater fuel economy. In tests these systems increased hybrid fuel economy up to 120 miles per gallon in the city and up to 90 mpg on the highway. The cost for the conversion ranges from $24,000 to $36,000 depending on the vehicle and size of battery pack.

January 14, 2008 - Detroit, MI - Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today announced it will provide several Toyota Prius plug-in electric hybrid (PHEV) prototypes at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit for executive shuttle service to and from the Cobo Center.

The prototype Prius plug-in hybrids are similar to the vehicles that were recently given to two University of California campuses. These vehicles are being used for research and testing as part of Toyota's on-going sustainable mobility development program with the University of California at Irvine's Advanced Power and Energy Program and the University of California at Berkeley's Institute of Transportation Studies.
