Model Year 2009 range

2008-07-22 -- Celebrating Saab’s unique aircraft heritage, its Aero performance range is expanded for Model Year 2009 to include BioPower, as well as a turbo diesel and gasoline engine options.

Saab leads the automotive sector in exploiting the environmental benefits of bioethanol as a renewable fuel for its BioPower flex-fuel engines, which also deliver more power when running on E85 (85% bioethanol,15% gasoline). Now this technology is available for the first time in Aero specification for both 9-3 and 9-5 product ranges.

Class-leading 2009 Saab 9-3 XWD With Signature 2.0-liter Turbo Power

2008-07-22 -- Saab’s widely-acclaimed all-wheel-drive system – Saab XWD – is given a broader appeal in the latest 9-3 Sport Sedan and SportCombi range by being teamed with classic Saab four-cylinder turbo power, in addition to the current 2.8V6 turbo application.

Featuring new generation, active control to bring the driver and car even closer together, the innovative XWD system now leverages the benefits of Saab’s smaller, 2.0-liter turbo engine. “This makes a very nimble handling package for the 9-3 range,” says Per Jansson, Vehicle Integration Engineer for Saab XWD.

BRITISH INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW, London, 22 July, 2008 – Ford's new range of super frugal ECOnetic models showcased at this year's British International Motor Show is leading the company's bid to cut UK CO2 emissions by over 80,000 tonnes. Independent industry analysis shows that if customers continue their move into lower CO2 and higher mpg Ford models, 83,818 tonnes of CO2 a year would be avoided – equivalent to annual emissions from around 13,000 homes.
