Tampa Bay International Auto Show

The Tampa Bay International Auto Show, produced by Motor Trend Auto Shows, LLC, is a showcase of new-model vehicles that is open to the public. The auto show is presented by the Greater Tampa Bay Automobile Dealers Association, Inc. and sponsored by The Tampa Tribune and St. Petersburg Times along with Centro Mi Diario, Tbo.com, tbt* Tampa Bay Times and Tampabay.com.

FEATURES, SPECIAL DISPLAYS & APPEARANCES

Futuristic Concept Cars – Come see the Ford Interceptor, Lincoln MKR, Suzuki Quay, Chevrolet Camaro and more. These vehicles provide a glimpse of what is around the corner in automotive design and technology.

More than 35 Major Domestic & Import Manufacturers – Over 400 of the latest 2009-model cars, trucks, crossovers, vans and sport/utility vehicles will be on display.

Follow the Green Trail – Green directional arrows along the aisle carpet and an auto show map will help guide attendees to the latest alternative fuel models on display. Attendees can learn how this new technology can help save money at the fuel pump and promote a cleaner environment.

Fuel-Efficient Vehicles – In addition to the alternative fuel vehicles, there are many fuel-efficient, non-hybrid vehicles for drivers to choose from. There are more 25 models rated at over 30 mpg, so be sure to look for them on the auto show floor as well.

GM Experience the Ride – Located on the front drive, directly outside the Channelside Entrance, take a test drive and feel the performance and handling of several all-new GM models. Hours: Friday noon to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

duPont REGISTRY’s™ Celebrity-Owned & Rare Sports Cars – See ultra-high-end sports cars as well as vehicles owned by Hulk Hogan, retired Buccaneers Linebacker Shelton Quarles and more.

Exotic Car Displays – Check out several high-end models from Aston Martin, Ferrari and Lamborghini, courtesy of Aston Martin of Tampa, Ferrari of Tampa Bay and Lamborghini Orlando.

Tampa Bay Automobile Museum Display – See vintage European Automobiles including a 1930 Tracta E, 1937 Peugeot Darl’Mat and 1942 Tatra T-87.

Interactive Game Experience (IGX) – Play the hottest driving and sports video games for free on the Microsoft Xbox 360™, Sony PLAYSTATION®3 and Nintendo Wii™ gaming systems. On Saturday, November 8, IGX will hold a special Guitar Hero® Tournament at the auto show. At 4 p.m., the first 32 entrants will compete for a gift card to a local video game store.

“Hellboy II: The Golden Army” DVD Giveaway – The first 100 adults on Thursday, November 6 will receive a redemption postcard for a FREE DVD copy of “Hellboy II: The Golden Army,” when it is released this November 11, 2008, courtesy of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

“Beethoven’s Big Break” DVD Giveaway – The first 100 families on Kids Day, Sunday, November 9 will receive a redemption postcard for a FREE DVD copy of “Beethoven’s Big Break,” when it is released this December 30, 2008, courtesy of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Iron Man® – The comic book super-hero will meet children on Kids Day between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Second Annual Lucky Ducky Derby – Cheer as more than 20,000 adopted rubber ducks float down the Garrison Channel on Sunday, November 9 at 12:15 p.m., to the finish line just outside the Tampa Convention Center. Ducks are available for adoption by visiting duckrace.com/tampabay. All proceeds benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Tampa.
