General Motors Recalling 2006-2008 Chevrolet HHR

General Motors (GM) has announced that its recalling 181,516 Chevrolet HHR vehicles from model year 2006-2008. The vehicles to be recalled are those which are not equipped with optional roof rail air bags because these vehicles do not comply Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Standard 201: Occupant Protection in Interior Impact (This Federal standard specifies performance requirements to provide head impact protection for occupants).
2008 Chevrolet HHR LT
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in tests one of the upper interior occupant protection test points exceeded the standard's requirement.
Chevrolet dealers will install an energy-absorbing plastic piece to the headliner trim.
The recall began on April 2, 2008. Chevy HHR owners may contact Chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438 or Chevrolet.com and refer to Recall Number: 08V046000.

It has already been a year now since General Motors started to lose money. They and Chrysler asked for cash advance loans from the Government back in November, along with a request for open lines of credit from Ford. GM Stock has recently taken a huge tumble on the market, after President Obama asked CEO Rick Wagoner to step down from his post as the head of GM and all subsidiaries, which he promptly complied with. Some experts have advocated that both GM and Chrysler declare bankruptcy and merge, with both discarding all brands that aren't competitive. Regardless, it appears dark days are still ahead for General Motors.
